What's New? Rabbits!
So we are very excited around here. A few weeks ago we culled our first group of rabbits. It was a huge learning experience and I think we will make a few changes this time around. There is one thing that I am learning through all of this "homesteading" work, we are WAY too detached from our food. My little niece was so sad at the fact that we would kill the cute little rabbits, which I understand, it was very hard to watch, but all of the meat that we eat was once a live animal. Just because you do not personally go out and raise it and then slaughter it does not mean that this is not what happens!
So this doe that I have lost her first kits, but turned out to be a great mother for her second set. She had 10 babies and raised them all and they did great. For those that do not know, a lot of times if you have 10 kits you will usually lose one or two because does only have 8 teats. We kept a very close watch on them all and made sure that they were all gaining weight like they should be. I am very excited to see how this litter goes. We have about two weeks and she should kindle! So I am going to walk you though this litter and all that goes on, I pray that all goes well!

At Home Mommy!!
I Love being a mommy! Me and Matthew made homemade brownies together after we did our class lessons and played Candy Land (he has to sound out words before he gets a turn). What other job lets you do that!!!! Thank you Lord for the blessing of getting to spend my days like this!!!!

We have 9 chickens, one cat, one dog, and one horse. We love each other and we love the Lord and hope that you can find a little of that here. We look forward to getting to know you all!
